A tall vertical stack with a flame shape at the tip, often with a molecular seal (a bulge) below the tip and pilot and ignition lines.
Meaning
Elevated flare: burns relief and blowdown gas. Becomes flare-stack (offshore booms are flare-boom).
Variants
- Ground or enclosed flares are drawn as a box with a flame
- HP and LP tips may be drawn side by side
