Meaning
A discrete (hardwired) instrument or function in the main control room, normally accessible to the operator: a panel indicator, controller or push-button. It is not on the plot; don't model it, but it tells you which field instrument exists.
Variants
- On ISA 5.1-2009 drawings, solid bar = central/main control room
- Circle-in-square with a bar = the same location but in the DCS
