Magnetic level gauge
ISA 5.1-2009/2022 (primary element symbols) / PIP PIC001
Drawn as
A chamber beside the vessel on two nozzles, with a float inside and a column of indicator flaps (half-filled marks) on its face, and an LG bubble.
Meaning
Float-and-magnet level indicator on a bypass chamber, readable from a distance. Often carries a level transmitter too. Becomes magnetic-level-gauge.
Variants
- Often drawn exactly like a gauge glass and tagged LG; the datasheet tells them apart
- A clamp-on magnetostrictive LT on the chamber is drawn as a separate LT bubble
