Package / vendor scope boundary
PIP PIC001 / ISO 10628-1 (diagram rules) / company legend practice
Drawn as
A dash-dot rectangle drawn around a group of equipment and piping, with the package tag and vendor written in a corner, and connections crossing its edge.
Meaning
Everything inside is supplied as one package (skid), and its details may be on the vendor's P&IDs. Map the package to a package component (e.g. chemical-injection-skid, instrument-air-package) and the crossing lines to its ports.
Variants
- Some legends use long dashes or a double-dash-dot
- Interface points on the boundary may carry small flags or "VI" (vendor interface) marks
Not physical hardware. Read it, then skip it in the 3D model.
