Local pressure gauge
ISA 5.1-2009/2022 (primary element symbols) / PIP PIC001
Drawn as
A PI (or PG) bubble on a thin impulse line from the pipe, often with a small root or isolation valve on the impulse line.
Meaning
Bourdon-tube dial gauge read locally: pump discharges, filters and vessels. Becomes pressure-gauge.
Variants
- ISA tag is PI; many companies use PG
- A gauge with a seal or snubber shows extra small symbols on the impulse line
- A small box with a letter on the gauge branch (F, S, D, P) is a project-specific accessory such as a snubber, seal, filter or pulsation damper: read the drawing legend, then model the gauge only
