ISO 10628-2 (groups 6, 8 and 28, filters, separators, agitators) / PIP PIC001
Drawn as
A long narrow cone lying on its side: tangential inlet at the wide end, a small reject (oil) outlet on the axis at the wide end, and the clean water outlet at the narrow tip. Packages show a vessel holding many liners.
Meaning
De-oiling hydrocyclone for produced water: removes oil droplets by spinning. Becomes hydrocyclone-package (the vessel with liners and its reject and water lines).
Variants
  • Package P&IDs draw one vessel with "liners" written inside
  • Desanding hydrocyclones are the same shape, mounted vertically, with sand out at the tip
