Vibration probes (API 670)

Machinery protection sensors on a bearing. Proximity: an X-Y pair of eddy-current probes at 45° either side of vertical, each in an externally mounted API 670 probe housing (stainless boss and hex, PPS body, cap and 3/4" conduit fitting) reading shaft vibration. Accelerometer: stud-mounted top-exit case sensors, vertical and horizontal, with 2-pin MIL-C-5015 connectors and booted armoured cable. Flexible conduit or cable loops to a stainless proximitor junction box with brass glands on a 2" pipe stand, and an outgoing multicore drops to the deck. Origin at the shaft centreline in the bearing plane, shaft along X; an optional pedestal bearing and shaft stub show the mounting. These are the VE / VT elements behind VI, VA and VSHH trip loops and condition-monitoring (CMS) systems. Sizes typical.

Installation

$npx -y https://decktwin.com/cli/deck-twin-0.2.2.tgz add vibration-probe

Copies instruments/vibration-probe.tsx and the shared lib/ into src/components/deck-twin/. Needs three, @react-three/fiber and @react-three/drei. See installation for the manual route.

Usage

import { Canvas } from '@react-three/fiber'
import { OrbitControls } from '@react-three/drei'
import { Stage } from './components/deck-twin/lib/stage'
import { VibrationProbe } from './components/deck-twin/instruments/vibration-probe'

export default function Scene() {
  return (
    <Canvas shadows camera={{ position: [8, 5, 9], fov: 35 }}>
      <Stage>
        <VibrationProbe />
      </Stage>
      <OrbitControls makeDefault />
    </Canvas>
  )
}

P&ID

P&ID symbol for vibration-probe

A VE or VT bubble joined to a small square or dot on a motor, pump, compressor or bearing outline, often in A / B or X / Y pairs, feeding VI / VA / VSHH functions in the DCS, SIS or CMS.

tag VEtag VTISA VEISA VTISA VXEISA VYEISA VIISA VSHHISA 5.1 (field-mounted instrument bubble) / API 670

V as the first letter is vibration (ISA 5.1). One vibration-probe per monitored bearing; pair for X-Y proximity probes, kind accelerometer for casing sensors. ZE on a machine is an axial position probe and maps here too. Voting such as 1oo2 between A and B means two sensors exist.

For agents

Machine-readable entry with props, ranges, defaults and ports:

$npx -y https://decktwin.com/cli/deck-twin-0.2.2.tgz info vibration-probe

Or fetch /r/vibration-probe.json, or copy a ready-made instruction:

Add the Deck Twin "Vibration probes (API 670)" component to this project. Run `npx -y https://decktwin.com/cli/deck-twin-0.2.2.tgz add vibration-probe` (it copies the file and the shared lib into src/components/deck-twin/), then `npx -y https://decktwin.com/cli/deck-twin-0.2.2.tgz info vibration-probe` for its props, ranges and ports. Render <VibrationProbe /> inside a React Three Fiber <Canvas shadows>, wrapped in <Stage> from src/components/deck-twin/lib/stage. Set props from my data (metres, NPS in inches, ASME class) and leave the rest at defaults. Install three, @react-three/fiber, @react-three/drei and @types/three if they're missing.
