Offshore pedestal crane

Diesel-hydraulic offshore pedestal crane with a wire-luffed lattice boom (hollow tubular chords and lacing). Flanged pedestal with bolted slew bearing and external gear, twin slew drives, caged ladders, rest and ring platforms, machinery house with louvres, cooler and exhaust, main and auxiliary winches, counterweight, operator cab beside the boom foot, A-frame gantry with lead sheaves and the upper luffing block, 6-fall luffing tackle with a floating spreader and LMI load cell, pendants, boom backstops, boom-angle indicator, head with rope keepers, anemometer and aviation lights, anti-two-block weight and switch, 4-fall hook block with a latched hook, whip line and ball, and an optional braced boom rest along +X. Sheave pitch diameters meet API 2C D/d ≥ 18. Slew (deg, counter-clockwise from above, 0 = boom along +X), luff (boom angle) and hook (drop below the head sheaves) move the boom, ropes and blocks; luff is clamped between the rest angle and 78°.

Installation

$npx -y https://decktwin.com/cli/deck-twin-0.2.2.tgz add pedestal-crane

Copies lifting/pedestal-crane.tsx and the shared lib/ into src/components/deck-twin/. Needs three, @react-three/fiber and @react-three/drei. See installation for the manual route.

Usage

import { Canvas } from '@react-three/fiber'
import { OrbitControls } from '@react-three/drei'
import { Stage } from './components/deck-twin/lib/stage'
import { PedestalCrane } from './components/deck-twin/lifting/pedestal-crane'

export default function Scene() {
  return (
    <Canvas shadows camera={{ position: [8, 5, 9], fov: 35 }}>
      <Stage>
        <PedestalCrane />
      </Stage>
      <OrbitControls makeDefault />
    </Canvas>
  )
}

P&ID

P&ID symbol for pedestal-crane

Plan view: the pedestal as a circle at the crane position with the maximum (and minimum) working radius drawn as large dashed circles around it, the boom as a line, and laydown areas and lift paths inside the radius; tagged CR- with SWL at radius.

tag CRLayout plan convention (lifting / materials-handling study); API Spec 2C

The large dashed reach circle is the clue. A small post with a short jib and no reach study is a davit-crane. Not on P&IDs, except a diesel or hydraulic utility tie-in.

For agents

Machine-readable entry with props, ranges, defaults and ports:

$npx -y https://decktwin.com/cli/deck-twin-0.2.2.tgz info pedestal-crane

Or fetch /r/pedestal-crane.json, or copy a ready-made instruction:

Add the Deck Twin "Offshore pedestal crane" component to this project. Run `npx -y https://decktwin.com/cli/deck-twin-0.2.2.tgz add pedestal-crane` (it copies the file and the shared lib into src/components/deck-twin/), then `npx -y https://decktwin.com/cli/deck-twin-0.2.2.tgz info pedestal-crane` for its props, ranges and ports. Render <PedestalCrane /> inside a React Three Fiber <Canvas shadows>, wrapped in <Stage> from src/components/deck-twin/lib/stage. Set props from my data (metres, NPS in inches, ASME class) and leave the rest at defaults. Install three, @react-three/fiber, @react-three/drei and @types/three if they're missing.
