Flare boom

Offshore inclined flare boom: tapered tubular box truss pinned at the root with rear legs, the flare header running up the boom axis to a vertical flare tip with windshield, retention ring and pilots, pilot gas lines along the chord, an inclined access way with treads and rails, a grated tip platform with obstruction lights. Origin at the boom root on the deck; the boom rises along +X. Optional animated flame.

Installation

$npx -y https://decktwin.com/cli/deck-twin-0.2.2.tgz add flare-boom

Copies thermal/flare-boom.tsx and the shared lib/ into src/components/deck-twin/. Needs three, @react-three/fiber and @react-three/drei. See installation for the manual route.

Usage

import { Canvas } from '@react-three/fiber'
import { OrbitControls } from '@react-three/drei'
import { Stage } from './components/deck-twin/lib/stage'
import { FlareBoom } from './components/deck-twin/thermal/flare-boom'

export default function Scene() {
  return (
    <Canvas shadows camera={{ position: [8, 5, 9], fov: 35 }}>
      <Stage>
        <FlareBoom />
      </Stage>
      <OrbitControls makeDefault />
    </Canvas>
  )
}

P&ID

P&ID symbol for flare-boom

On the flare P&ID: the flare header ending at a flare tip symbol (a short stack with a flame outline on top), with pilot gas and ignition lines; on layouts an inclined boom outline from the platform edge to the tip.

ISO 10628-2 / PIP PIC001 (flare tip) / layout convention for the boom

Inclined boom = offshore flare boom; a vertical stack from grade is a flare-stack. A stack with no flame symbol is a cold vent.

For agents

Machine-readable entry with props, ranges, defaults and ports:

$npx -y https://decktwin.com/cli/deck-twin-0.2.2.tgz info flare-boom

Or fetch /r/flare-boom.json, or copy a ready-made instruction:

Add the Deck Twin "Flare boom" component to this project. Run `npx -y https://decktwin.com/cli/deck-twin-0.2.2.tgz add flare-boom` (it copies the file and the shared lib into src/components/deck-twin/), then `npx -y https://decktwin.com/cli/deck-twin-0.2.2.tgz info flare-boom` for its props, ranges and ports. Render <FlareBoom /> inside a React Three Fiber <Canvas shadows>, wrapped in <Stage> from src/components/deck-twin/lib/stage. Set props from my data (metres, NPS in inches, ASME class) and leave the rest at defaults. Install three, @react-three/fiber, @react-three/drei and @types/three if they're missing.
