Shell-and-tube exchanger

TEMA shell-and-tube exchanger on fixed and sliding saddles: AES (removable channel, floating head with shell cover), AEU (U-tube), BEM (fixed tubesheet bonnets with expansion bellows) or AKT (kettle reboiler with eccentric cone). Bolted girth flanges with full studding, channel cover davit, shell and channel nozzles, vents, drains and nameplate. Shells can be stacked two high in series with bolted stacking saddles and nozzle-to-nozzle interconnects.

Installation

$npx -y https://decktwin.com/cli/deck-twin-0.2.2.tgz add shell-and-tube-exchanger

Copies thermal/shell-and-tube-exchanger.tsx and the shared lib/ into src/components/deck-twin/. Needs three, @react-three/fiber and @react-three/drei. See installation for the manual route.

Usage

import { Canvas } from '@react-three/fiber'
import { OrbitControls } from '@react-three/drei'
import { Stage } from './components/deck-twin/lib/stage'
import { ShellAndTubeExchanger } from './components/deck-twin/thermal/shell-and-tube-exchanger'

export default function Scene() {
  return (
    <Canvas shadows camera={{ position: [8, 5, 9], fov: 35 }}>
      <Stage>
        <ShellAndTubeExchanger />
      </Stage>
      <OrbitControls makeDefault />
    </Canvas>
  )
}

P&ID

P&ID symbol for shell-and-tube-exchanger

Horizontal shell (long rectangle or capsule) with the channel head at one end and the tube bundle drawn as a line or U inside; tube-side nozzles on the channel, shell-side nozzles on the shell. Many legends draw a circle with a zig-zag through it, or two interlocking circles, for any exchanger, with the TEMA type (AES, AEU, BEM, AKT) written beside it.

tag Etag HXISO 10628-2 / PIP PIC001; TEMA type designation

The tag letter E and the TEMA type confirm it. A shell with an enlarged dome and a weir is a kettle (AKT). A box with a fan is an air cooler; a frame with many plates is a plate exchanger; two pipes with a return bend is a hairpin.

For agents

Machine-readable entry with props, ranges, defaults and ports:

$npx -y https://decktwin.com/cli/deck-twin-0.2.2.tgz info shell-and-tube-exchanger

Or fetch /r/shell-and-tube-exchanger.json, or copy a ready-made instruction:

Add the Deck Twin "Shell-and-tube exchanger" component to this project. Run `npx -y https://decktwin.com/cli/deck-twin-0.2.2.tgz add shell-and-tube-exchanger` (it copies the file and the shared lib into src/components/deck-twin/), then `npx -y https://decktwin.com/cli/deck-twin-0.2.2.tgz info shell-and-tube-exchanger` for its props, ranges and ports. Render <ShellAndTubeExchanger /> inside a React Three Fiber <Canvas shadows>, wrapped in <Stage> from src/components/deck-twin/lib/stage. Set props from my data (metres, NPS in inches, ASME class) and leave the rest at defaults. Install three, @react-three/fiber, @react-three/drei and @types/three if they're missing.
