Oil-injected screw compressor package (API 619)

Packaged rotary screw compressor for instrument air or gas boost: twin-rotor block with inlet (unloader) valve, TEFC two-pole motor and guarded coupling, horizontal oil separator on saddles with safety valve and minimum-pressure valve, combined oil cooler / aftercooler with fan, duplex oil filters, thermostatic valve and (air service) an intake filter housing. With enclosure it sits in an acoustic canopy with intake louvres, a cooling-air discharge grille, HMI and front doors that can be opened; without it, a free-standing control panel. Block, separator and cooler scale with kw.

Casing outline with two meshing rotors (two overlapping circles or intermeshing helices) inside, driver on the shaft. Packaged instrument-air or gas-boost units are usually shown inside a dashed package boundary with the oil separator and cooler.

Two rotors = rotary screw (or lobe) compressor. A trapezoid is centrifugal; a piston in a cylinder is reciprocating. Oil-free air packages (instrument-air-package) use the same compressor symbol inside a larger package.
